Collagen Replacement is ideal for correcting deeper lines and furrows, such as at the corners of the mouth or between the mouth and nose. It is also used to enhance the shape and size of the lip, especially to redefine an aging upper lip.

Collagen is derived from bovine sources and has been used safely in millions of patients. A screening skin test (cost $75) is performed on the forearm one month prior to treatment.

Collagen is quick and easy to perform and provides immediate correction without "down time". Patients require no anesthetic but may use a topical "numbing cream."

Collagen Replacement Therapy generally lasts from 6-18 months. Most patients receive touchup treatments once or twice a year. Studies have suggested that with use Collagen may become more long-lasting by stimulating natural collagen growth.

Please refrain from aspirin-containing medications for three weeks prior to treatment.  Also, ibuprofen, Vitamin E and herbal preparations should be avoided for one week before fat transfer.
